Best Buy certainly has acknowledged that the bleed is occurring. One theory is that it is the way the installers grab the ultra thin screen but mu bleed has been on the bottom and lower corners where the set is the thickest. I've looked at a lot of TV's and in theory, again the edge lit sets are more prone to the problem than OLED or full array. That said, the Sony 900C is the worst I've seen and once you see it in your screen, you can't just ignore it. I ended up with the LG 55EG9600 and, while twice the cost, if the best picture experience is your goal, the LG picture is the most amazing, I have ever seen.
I would recommend:
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I am waiting for my 3rd 900c. The 1st two had light bleed. I am told by the people at Best Buy, including the Sony rep, that the issue is with the installers not using the lifting device that comes with the set and lifting it by grabbing the bottom or sides as they lift the set to remove from the shipping container and mount. Best Buy are being outstanding throughout this process, couldn't be more helpful, and I am hoping the installers have been retrained in the proper installation and my third time will be a charm. It is a great TV, with great potential to be a game-changer and I am hoping the issue is being resolved. My guess is that, if they don't get this sorted out very soon this model may disappear from the Best Buy lineup.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. When selecting the TV, I asked Best Buy about it and they knew nothing of the issue. I was told everything would be great. I decided to get the TV but it appears light bleeding is still an issue.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Found this video on Sony's product page ... if you notice, there is no lifting device shown to use during instillation - the sims are simply picking the tv up and hanging it. Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. It is a known problem but Best Buy staff didn't tell me about it: in fact they recommend this set to me more than any other. RanchrFl mentions a device to lift the TV out of its box. I don't see it in my packaging. Are you referring to the wall mount which comes with the TV or...?
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. This more likely is occuring do to edge back lighting. It's inherite side effect if you will of the cheaper back light technology.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I bought it yesterday and didn't notice any issue, so I guess the answer is YES
