Sony should not be allowed to sell this tv

The Good: The color is absolutely amazing and it's really thin. The Bad: The light bleed is absolutely horrendous. There is light bleed coming from every corner and on the bottom edge. It is most prominent on the bottom right and bottom edges. As I mostly watch movies, the black bars on the top and bottom mean that the light bleed is always present. For the amount of money you spend to have the Sony name brand, there should not be any light bleed. I exchanged the tv in store for another 900c this past Saturday hoping that there would be an improvement and it turned out to have an even worse light bleed problem. I am exchanging for the 850c and hopefully won't have to deal with the light bleed again.

Love the tv. Extremely thin screen make for a great look. Only setback to that is a little bit of light bleed around the edges. That is the only negative to this tv. Not noticeable unless on a dark screen.

Nothing's Perfect. With every new product, there will always be flaws; or rather, the urge to seek out potential flaws, We must admit , while we'd love to have a "flawless" experience we are not without a warrant to search. Making a big deal out of every "nook and cranky" I find the Television to my liking, however as previously stated on my search , I came across a ...What appears to be a brighter area that appears upon the bottom right and leading to the left fram. Now ,although this is only viable during a black screen ; it may be annoying to a perfectionist. Otherwise, it runs just fine.

I went to the store to pick up a solid state drive for my PC, while we were there we started looking( and dreaming) at the newer model HDTVs. The sales rep directed us to the Sony model after we were asking about LG and 3D capability. We were pleased to find out this model is passive 3D. To see the movies and games on this model is a breath of fresh air. Star Wars VII was a lot of fun to see on this model. It seamlessly syncs up with the PS4.

I've always liked Sony, Overall their television line up is solid. The Bravia X90c is no exception. The 4K display looks amazing, and the 3D is a solid feature. One of the best smart tv platforms that I've seen. The tv is fast and responsive. My only regret was getting the 55 inch model instead of the 65 inch.

Let me start by saying I'm a huge Sony fan, I own cameras, tablets, gaming platforms, portable gaming platforms, surround sound systems, computers, wireless speakers, electronic acessories and software, headphones, 3D glasses and digital media players all from Sony. So I'm fairly familiar with their quality of work. That being said, I'm quite sad at having to return this TV set due to light bleeding. The picture was second to none and and ease of use made setup a simple task. I recommend allowing the set to update before initial use of the television, as it allows for a more complete first impression. I thought that even after seeing the light bleeding along the bottom of the screen that the picture was so good I could live with it, but because of the price and the fact that Best Buy removed the product from their retail kinda forced my hand. I hope the mistakes made with this product can be reconciled and that the product can be reintroduced to the public. As I still really do want this TV. That's how good it is.

I am one of those fools who decided to buy a tv on Superbowl Sunday. I walked into Best Buy, looked at all of the options available, and decided to purchase this Sony tv based on its specifications, image quality, the shockly thin screen (which was a great plus in my mind) and the fact I could fit it into the back seat of my 4-door sedan. It slightly bothered me that I bought it a day after it went off sale, but I decided to take the plunge anyhow. The floor model performed admirably and I was very impressed with its presentation. I understood that many previous models had an issue with severe lightbleed but many reviewers seem to link it to a particular batch in late 2015. I figured, hey why not take a chance? The bad news is, yes there is still a lightbleed issue right on each of the four corners of the tv. However, the only way I could even notice it is when I had all of the lights off, curtains closed, and I was watching something set at night or in a dark background. Even then, it wasn't so severe to throw me off from watching the tv. Interestingly enough, it was only the fact that I knew of the lightbleed issue that made me take notice of it. Otherwise, I probably wouldn't have cared. Besides that, the apps work great and the functionality of the tv is wonderful. I am slightly irritated that the HBO Go and Showtime apps don't work on my tv because of some contractual issue between Xfinity and those cable channels, but I have an Amazon Fire TV box which does have accessibility. You may want to check with your service provider to see if those apps work on smart tvs. It's not a terrible tv, it's not a perfect tv, but I enjoy it immensely.

    Another Bad Light Bleed

This is a follow up review about the XBR900C 65" which is being posted here because I can't upload photos under the 900C 65" thread...To continue .. I had Best Buy send out another XBR900C yesterday.Maybe it has something to do with Friday the 13th?...No I don't think so, it is just a poorly executed design by Sony. As you can see by the photos attached , which I took on my I phone last night the light bleed is very obvious and has spread with more flash-lighting intensity over the entire bottom of the screen. Originally when Geek Squad came out with the second XBR900C there was only one modest light bleed in the lower left corner. So I figured I would give the set a chance, yet as the night went on it just got worst. This is totally unacceptable, making the viewing experience filled with exasperation and rage instead of enjoyment. I really , really want my HX950 back and repaired but since that is not possible I must make another decision. I would love to upgrade to the only Sony which has FALD.. the 950B but that is still hovering around $4,500... Pity there isn't a stock of HX950 somewhere!!!... Anyways ,I think I will try the LG OLED EF9500 55" model.. This will be my first non-Sony TV which I have bought since my first Sony KV1212 that I bought as A teenager back in 1972.

I got my TV on Black Friday and I was so exited because the sales person told me that the light bleeding problem was fixed. Once I got home and waited about 1 hour to set everything up, I noticed white spots in some corners. I contacted Sony directly and they told me it was fine on this kind of TV. I didn't believe because if it was true, the whole screen would be the same not just some corners. I went to best buy and the sales person decided to exchange it for a new one ( they delivered it to my home). The new one was worse, the light bleeding was huge... Went back to Best Buy and they sent me a new one, the same, some light bleeding. Finally, I returned it and bought and open box and surprise I got one with just a little bit of white at the inferior right corner. I am not totally satisfied but I am tired of exchanging TVS and I got a good price on this one. The quality of the TV is wonderful, that's why I'm keeping it, just keep trying until you got one without notorious light bleeding, Best Buy people helped me a lot without having a problem. Have a nice day

I bought this TV as a replacement for a LG 3D TV that the motherboard died on. So far I am extremely satisfied with it. I do get the white bleed on the four corners when it is an all black screen but it does not bother me. I usually only notice it when I cut the TV on or off. The picture is absolutely magnificent. This is streaming, playing DVD's or just watching TV. It even makes old std DVDs look almost as good as blu-ray. The 3D is very good, and depth can be adjusted. It does not appear to have a built in 2D to 3D converter as my lg did but that wasn't all that great anyway. The border around the TV that is the non-view-able area is less than 3/8 of an inch so it looks like you are looking out a window. The screen is so thin (it is like a heavy duty wall mirror) I was afraid of breaking it just mounting it on my corner stand rails, but all went well. This is my first experience with an android tv and have to admit it has some very nice features, like the PlayStation Network with out needing a PlayStation and also being able to stream PS3 games if you get a PS4 game controller thru the TV itself. There are video tutorials in the app area on how to use the TV as well as a plethora of apps. The remote even has a Netflix one touch button to start Netflix up. Amazon , Crackle, Hulu and many, many more are available. I think you can screen cast or mirror if you have smart phones or tablets that support Miracast. There is access to Google Play store, Google Movies and TV, and Google play games. If you don't worry about the light bleed in the corners, this is an awesome TV.

This review is set about 8 months after purchase. Great TV. Colors: Vibrant and crisp. Especially with 4k media. The blacks could be more...black but overall great. Viewing Angle: I see this tv from all sorts of angles. Whether its from the side when I'm cooking and peeking at the tv, or on the ground with my son watching tv or playing games. The only slight I have from it is that it can be quite reflective of lighting, so notice where your light sources could be. Physical: For it's size, its almost a crime for how light it is. It also comes with it's own tv mount, which keeps the tv as flush with the wall as it can be. Almost making it like a painting on how smooth the sides are, and how modern the design is. It has multiple HDMI cables, but it does not come with a cable tuner (which I don't use anyway) Actual 120HZ refresh, this should be noted as a huge plus. Also, 3D movie capable. Though I don't need this, it comes as a welcome addition. I'll have to try it out someday. The user interface is great, although it can be very slow sometimes. This is one of the cons of the TV, but it can be said of most smart TVs. Running multiple apps may cause the TV to slow and restart. It doesn't happen often and over the course of 8 months happens only twice. Although this can be remedied by properly shutting off the TV (hold down the power for 5 seconds, not just pressing the power button once). Conclusion: I was hesitant with the $999 price, but bought it anyway and don't regret it. It was a welcome upgrade to a 5 year old 40" LCD tv, it looks and works great. Though it doesn't bother me as much when the TV slows during app changing, its something to be mentioned. The 120HZ makes movies and games feel much more crisp, and the 4K (when I do get it) looks astounding. I suggest before buying any TV, that you do your research diligently and I hope this review helped.

    Buyer Beware

I listened to the Magnolia Best Buy Sale's Associate who stated all the issues customers are having with light bleed/flashlighting were due to the TV being extremely thin and during installation the screens were being flexed. I took a chance, bought this beautiful TV and installed it with upmost care. During setup I was amazed at how beautiful this TV is. I did a lot of research, two months, before my purchase. During my first dark movie scene...there it was. The edges of the screen was bleeding in light. I was horrified. I love the look of the TV and I was hoping Best Buy was right about the light bleed issue; however, that was not true in my case. If you have light bleed on a brand new TV, what issues might you have 2 years from now. For a premium TV, that was not a risk I was willing to take. I returned it for a Samsung JS8500...but my troubles were't over. The Samsung has all of its HDMI/USB connections in a separate mini connect box which is upgradable. The TV picture is excellent, but if you wall mount it, the proprietary cable is only 7 ft long. When going inside a wall and needing to come back out to a stand or rack the cable is about 2 feet short...and the bad news, for that TV there is not an option to buy a longer chord. Please do your research and listen to the reviews. Sony makes fantastic TV's; however, I would pass on the "C" models and get a new "D" model in April 2016. Good luck!

Great tv very thin. Good picture colors. I don't see any of the light bleeding that some others who have purchase this tv. I am very happy with this purchase, the only thing I don't like about this tv is that it's very heavy. Another thing I don't like is that this tv is a 60Hz instead of 120 or even 240Hz. Another thing I would like Sony to make OLED tvs. Nonetheless I'm happy with this tv and I would recommend to a friend.

Let me start by saying the 900c has one of the best pictures I've seen but is plagued by light leaks mainly along the bottom corners. You wont notice it unless you watch movies in low light with dark scenes such as the movie Fury where they are inside the tank. It looked like they had a night light on in the bottom right corner. I found myself constantly distracted while watching movies which drove me crazy. If you just watch cable and network stuff in a well lit room you probably won't notice the leakage issues. But if you are the type to dim the lights and watch a blu-ray movie keep shopping. It seems the super thin screen has something to do with it. I'm not sure why Sony would try to make a screen so thin and create problems such as this as I really don't care if my Tv hanging on the wall is as thin as a cell phone, It's really not that important. I thought about keeping it but was concerned that it may get worse as time passes and then I would be stuck with it. Disappointed with Sony for letting something like this hit the market. BestBuy was great about returning it as usual and I picked up the LG UH8500 and couldn't be happier.
