Here is the problem, Sony uses the same software on all of its new sets from top teir to budget(like yours) The 810C as much as you wont want to hear is part of the budget/economy line of Sony. With that said while the android software is the same it doesn't have all the bells and whistles like the 850c and above have. That remote is one of them. The voice mode is part of the Android package by default because its the same android package like used on a phone or a tablet just made for TVs. Sony did not program any of it but did build a remote for it for the higher end sets. The Launcher that the TV uses is called "Android TV" and can be found on the google play store and used on any TV that has android and will have the same voice search feature as your sony even if the tv it was put on had not been intended for it. Think about new cars, a base model lets say doesn't have fog lights but instead has black caps in the bumper where they would go. The higher end trim package of the same car does have the fog lights. The base model will still usually have the wiring pinned up behind those caps for fog lights even though it did not come with them because they were using the same base model for every version.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I bought the 810C three days ago and noticed the same thing. This particular TV is a "Price point" model that has less bells and whistles then its pricier siblings. The good news is Sony spent the savings on the things that count - like PQ!!! So you have two options. One is to search for Sony RMF-TX100U Remote on google where you will find several websites selling the remote for under $60. The other option (assuming you have a smart phone) is to download Sony's Sideview app - it's free and gives you all the functionality of the touch pad remote including voice command - and did I mention that it's FREE?
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. If you have a smartphone with bluetooth, get the free Sony SideView app and you can use voice commands via the phone. Quite cool.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.you don't really need a special remote. just talk loud enough to the tv. its built in.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Hi mary, the compatible touchpad remote for this TV is the RMF-TX100U. For more information on how to use the Voice Search function of the Android TV, please visit the following website: https://us.en.kb.sony.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/61608/p/61659,95543,95547,95850/c/65,66/kw/Android%20TV%20how%20to%20use%20voice%20command%20. I hope this helps, Dave
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. That is not the correct remote. That is last years non-voice control remote. The other way to access the voice input is by Using the Android TV app on the google play store. It is free and very easy to use.
