• Hi MC, The actual width of this TV is 48 3/8 inches while the stand width is 39 5/8 inches. For product protection and safety reasons, ensure the television set is not overhanging the edge of the supporting furniture with proper ventilation is provided. Thanks. Jay

• The TV will fit on a 48" stand as the base has feet that are 43 " apart. A small part of the TV will extend past the edges of your TV stand Since the screen is 50 " you will have an inch on each side. It does not look bad to me but others may not like the look.

• 48 5/16”. The supports need 42 3/8”. By the way, it has the finest picture I’ve ever seen.
