“I have auto updates for my Apps turned off. Apps I don't pay for or use will not get updated to drain my shared storage. I don't install/update Google Apps I'll never use but I do install system updates that keep my TV working properly. Is this ok to do?”

Hi DT, Thank you for your inquiry! Your Bravia X90J is a Smart Google TV (Android TV). There are Google apps, especially the system apps, that needs to be updated after certain period of time. You have the option to turn off the auto update function but we highly recommend updating these apps once is a little while to make sure your TV will run smoothly and to minimize any possible software-related issues. Even though the TV setup was simple - Cable TV, DVD/Blue Ray player, JBL 5.1 sound bar system, by-passing everything else, I would never use those Apps, and I refuse to use them. Also, I will never connect any TV I buy - WiFi - to the Internet. The only thing I want connected to the Internet is my Desktop computer, or Laptop computer, Period!!! It is a very nice TV.
