The 3.5mm audio out jack can also be used to connect analog audio to a home theater system with a 3.5mm plug to RCA/Composite cable. Regarding the original question, I don't know if the Bluetooth transmitter will work but the TV speakers will continue to make sound. However, there are several different ways to prevent them from making sound -- (1) in Setup/AV Setup turn the Speakers to Audio System, turn Headphone/Audio Out to Audio out (Fixed) and turn Headphone Speaker Link to Off (2) Leave Speakers set to TV Speakers but turn the TV volume down to Min and turn Headphone Speaker Link to Off (3) Mute the TV sound and turn Setup/AV Setup/Headphone/Audio Out to Audio out (Fixed) and turn Headphone Speaker Link to Off.
