I tried both settings and changed hdmi to enhanced. Apple TV is hooked up to HDMI 2 through a Yamaha RXV-681 receiver which is 4K and HDR compatible. Apple TV will not recognize HDR but switches back to standard 4K. I have new 2.2 compliant hdmi cables
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. If you have not tried already , connect your apple tv to HDMI 2 and then choose that input from TV remote. When Apple TV's front screen appears, using your Sony Remote click Options in the picture or display or Scene Select choose HDR vivid or HDR video. Lets see if that works. It works for my Roku when plugged into HDMI 2

You may check this link for the steps on how to change the TV's HDMI signal format: https://us.en.kb.sony.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/63061/p/61659,62766,97158,97159/c/65,66/kw/enhanced%20hdmi Thanks, -Mark
