I'm not sure what you mean by compatible, but the sony sideview app is available on iOS, so you should be able to view extended programming info on your phone. If you'd like to stream content from your phone to your tv, youtube content for example, that will depend heavily upon the iOS app as well as the tv's app. I wouldn't count on it though.

If you are trying to connect the iPhone 5 via USB connection it is not compatible. However you can use the iPhone as a remote control using the TV Sideview app available on the apple store.
