• Hi Dick, If you connect the device to the TV headphone jack, the TV can't output sound from both the TV speakers and the audio device simultaneously. Check your options here: https://www.sony.com/electronics/support/articles/00201347. I hope that helps. Thanks! -Vincent

• Headphone jack will cut off speakers. Optical output may be a good option or an output from your settop box box or DVR.
