Hi Sunshine, Thank you for your inquiry! You can set up this unit as a basic TV, without agreeing to some terms of Sony and Google and without installing apps. The limited TV includes live TV, as well as external devices and a limited selection of pre-installed apps. If you want to take advantage of the full features and capabilities and more apps selections, we highly recommend setting this TV up with a Google account and may include some Sony terms as well.
