“Last week a BB salesman told me Sony 850d TVs had HDR10 capability, and Dolby Vision was going away. Now I see at the BB website that the new Sony 65" 850E includes Dolby Vision . . . is that accurate, and will it handle HDR10 as well?”

So i did some research and found that only tvs with x1 extreme processor will get the update. And alas the 850 and even the 900 are not xtreme so they will not get dv update. Only the 930 and up .

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.From some other articles I've read, Sony will be adding Dolby at a later date via software updates to particular versions. If I recall correctly, this was one. I'm looking at this one as well. Hope this helps.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Hello! Anything with an X1 extreme processor, with the software update in June, will be able to process HDR10, Dolby Vision, and HLG. Models include x930e, x940e, z9d, and new Sony OLED A1E.
