The actual base that comes with the TV is pretty small - about 10 inches you don't need a very large surface area to hold it.
That said, to be on the safe side I'd use a table that was at least 10 1/2 deep and 57 in wide/long.
Friendly reminder - make sure you use a table that is strong enough to hold the weight too, these can be heavy.
PS - the only HDMI ports that can get Ultra High Def are ports 2 and 3 - they kind of hide this fact.
If you get a soundbar, plug t into port 2, and plug your blu-ray or cable into port 3.
