I was concerned about the blooming too, there are settings that you can apply and minimze it. Don't expect any help at all from SONY official support, the guys at Magnolia will help you out with the settings and other answers, as they helped me. The Cinema mode really takes down the blooming affect.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. The sound is okay - better than many TVs but I would definitely recommend a sound bar. I went with the Sony that was bundled at the time. Sounds awesome. Also strongly recommend mounting said bar to the TV. Only really clean way to do it and it looks sleek and uniform. Dark room performance seems really solid so far. If anything you may decide to turn down the brightness. The halos around text are smaller than any I’ve seen on an LED. Only way to eliminate is to go OLED, but for overall performance per dollar I’d give this tv the edge. Side note, the new Sony OLED sounded great without the sound bar if you go that direction.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. It would sound better with a sound bar. It looks fine in my dark living room. Any blooming is minimal and it's unlikely it'll spoil your viewing pleasure.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. The volume seems to come out through the back of the TV. In my opinion a sound bar is needed. Fortunately I had one before I bought this TV. I feel the comment about blooming is no better or worst than other brands. I haven’t experience any noticeable difference.
