How far in front of the screen does the TV stand extend? The specs say the stand is 13.8" and the TV is 2.8". Does that mean the stand would be 4.1" (Half of 13,8 minus 2.8). I am removing a 65" projection TV and have to modify the opening . null

The stand extends 6 inches in front of the screen.

The front of the stand extends 5-7/8" from the front of the LED screen. There is one feature about that stand that I am not happy about and I called Sony to clarify. When the TV is placed on the stand, the TV will tilt backwards (5 degrees) toward the wall. They said it was designed that way for people that place the TV on a low profile stand, So if they are sitting on a chair, the TV faces up. That's weird! I put a couple quarters under each back legs to correct the angle. Now it's facing vertical when viewed from the side.
