How do I hook up my cable box to this receiver null

I would recommend using the HDMI ports. You might be able to connect other ways but it is designed for easy HDMI setup. Very simple one HDMI in and HDMI out. I use my Sony Amp to provide the HDMI switching from my Playstation or Cable input.

The simple answer is through the HDMI connection. Without knowing more about your cable box I'm not sure how else to answer. If you do have an HDMI out on your cable box then this will go into one of the HDMI in ports on the receiver. You then use another HDMI cable to go from the HDMI output on the receiver to the TV. By selecting the correct input on the receiver it will send the signal to the TV.
