“I am replacing an old Sony theater that is a 5.1 my speakers are fine 5 with powered subwoofer.I think I can use them but looking at the back of this unit,it appears to have two subwoofer outlets,or am I seeing it wrong ? Does this require two of them”

• It does not require 2 subwoofers. I have 1 Harmon Kardon Sub hooked up to the right AV subwoofer jack of the receiver with LFE set on subwoofer and it works great!

• Hi Allen, It does not require two subwoofers, you can use a 5.1 channel setup which is composed of five speakers (two front speakers, a center speaker, and two surround speakers) and a subwoofer. However, the STR-DH550 allows you to use up to a 5.2-channel system (5 speakers and two subwoofers). -Jerome

• You can use 1 subwoofer by attaching it with a RCA y-spitter
