The mounts are made to hold ranges of sizes. I don't know exact numbers but the one ours is on is for 65" and up. And we have a 75" tv. I think the range before it is 45" to 64" so if your 65" was properly mounted on a mount for 65" and larger you will be good. Hope this is helpful!

Depends on the mount... lookup the model you have and look at the weight rating... my mount will hold up to 135 lbs...
