“If you have Directv do I need to upgrade to a 4K mini box to get the 4K or is this TV already set up to use without that? I currently have latest Genie tower and minis at each TV location two of which are hardwired vs WiFi enabled. Directv users?”

To get any 4K you have to upgrade the direct tv box to a 4K one. I have not done that because it seems to me there are not a lot of 4K content available.
