It only allows you to select Dolby vision settings when the tv is receiving a Dolby vision signal.

Please keep in mind that when you start playing Dolby Vision content, Dolby Vision Bright and Dolby Vision Dark become available in picture mode. To check if your Google TV detects Dolby Vision format, make sure that the content and device (streaming media players and UHD Blu-ray Disc players) support it. On the connected device, make sure the output is set to Dolby Vision. HDMI devices with Dolby Vision playback such as streaming media players and UHD Blu-ray players may require a software update.
