QuestionI am wondering. I understand that oled has great picture quality. But how long can I expect it to last? Dropping $3k+ on a tv that might last only 5-7 years because of gradual dimming or burn in is a little scary. Thanks.

- Answer Hi Szar1701, Thanks for inquiring about the TV. It is difficult for Sony or any other manufacturer to quote the life expectancy for a product. Certain variables, such as the amount of use (or lack thereof) a product receives and the environmental conditions in which a product is being used, play a part in the life expectancy of a product. Organic LED displays (OLED) may experience image retention if an image is continuously displayed for a long period of time or the same image is repeatedly displayed. This is due to the characteristics of the materials used to achieve high-definition imaging. To protect your TV screen, avoid using images that may cause image retention. The good news is that we have equipped it with functions that automatically adjust the screen conditions. Respectively: Panel refresh, Panel calibration, Pixel shift, and Function to adjust the screen brightness. These functions automatically run according to your TV’s condition or you can run them manually. Hope this helps. Regards, Jess

QuestionI'm confused about all these apple tv connectivity answers and reviews. I thought the TV had Apple Tv built-in, no? my lower end Samsung does.

- Answer Unfortunately, the 65" a80j I had installed 2 weeks ago will NOT allow me to sign in and use my apple+ app no matter which suggestion to resolve I tried. And I continue to read the posts of others in my same situation. I have tried all of the suggestions to no avail and hoping Sony addresses as it certainly appears to be an issue within the tv but I am not the expert.

QuestionHow many speakers and how may watts output do they total?

- Answer I believe there are 4 speakers within the TV (2.1 setup) for a total of 50W. I have been pretty impressed with the sound coming out of this TV. Granted you will not be getting a full surround sound\home theater experience. But the audio is not disappointing for your standard TV audio experience.

- Answer Hi Sinjin, The recommended wall-mount bracket for the XR-77A80J is SU-WL855 (not supplied). You may also use a VESA compatible wall-mount using the 300 x 300 mm hole pitch size, however we cannot guarantee it’s usage. For product protection and safety reasons, Sony strongly recommends that installation of your TV on the wall be performed by qualified professionals. Regards, Jess

QuestionI cannot disable closed caption since I purchased this TV. When I press on the closed caption button on the Sony remote - it doesn't disable the closed caption displayed on the TV. In addition it doesn't give me any options to turn on/off closed caption.

- Answer Hi Dee, Thank you for the inquiry! We're sorry to hear about this issue. What are the devices connected? What is the current source? Closed Captions may not be available for some TV broadcasts. Whether a given app supports the Closed Caption feature depends on the app. Some apps, such as Netflix, enable Closed Captions by using their own setting menu instead of pressing the CC (Subtitle) button on the TV remote control. In addition, some apps can change the text size and color. - Answer Could be source of material inputted. But most likely you need to adjust picture settings or calibrate to your standards. If all else fails you have a few weeks to return it. But trust me unless it a bad set you won’t find a better TV for the money presently. Good luck.

To use devices connected (such as a Blu-ray/DVD player or set-top box) to the TV, or to watch TV after such use, you will need to switch the input. On the supplied remote control, press the INPUT button repeatedly to select the connected device. Alternatively, press the INPUT button or (Input select on the Home screen), use the Left/Right buttons to select a connected device, and then press the Enter button. You can also switch to TV broadcasting by simply pressing the TV button on the remote control. - Answer To get any 4K you have to upgrade the direct tv box to a 4K one. I have not done that because it seems to me there are not a lot of 4K content available.

- Answer Hi Speedo, Thanks for inquiring about the A80J. It's possible that your OLED TV may feel warm or hot after several hours of use. This does not indicate a defect nor does it affect the reliability or life of product. As with all electronics product, ensure the TV has sufficient ventilation to avoid causing it to overheat. In addition, you can change the Picture mode from Vivid to Standard or decrease the Brightness to reduce power consumption and produce less heat. Please use the TV within the temperature range of 0 °C to 40 °C (32 °F to 104 °F), and avoid exposing the TV to direct sunlight. Hope this helps. Regards, Jess

- Answer I checked with Sony regarding this. Yes, it is supposed to work as long as you use the optical output on the TV to connect to the hearing aids. We purchased the Mee Audio Connect to make the Bluetooth connection to the hearing aids, but the tech was not able to get the Mee Audio device to pair with my wife's hearing aids. It was disappointing but we are getting by with closed captioning.

- Answer All 77" A80js have the EVO panel, technically LG didn't make a 77" non-evo panel they just software lock the C1. Sony doesn't have that issue (as they didn't make a 77" A90j) and so the 77" gets to use the full power of the EVO panel.
