QuestionHello why has SONY removed the sub out function from this tv. You can’t use the acoustic actuators in conjunction with a powered subwoofer. The tv is meant to have a sound solution, but removes customer selection of adding a subwoofer

QuestionAnyone else have issues with losing wifi after turning the tv back on from being off over night? It has "excellent" strength and I am using eero with a beacon in an open space within about 20 ft. It happens on 2.4 and 5ghz freq. Major disappointment.

QuestionHow secure is this TV when using the narrow stand configuration of 27 "? Trying to determine if I'm going to need to purchase a new media center as my current is only 40" wide. Thx

- Answer Hi MrHo, Thanks for your inquiry. Make sure the table stand or media center can adequately support the weight of the TV and that the TV stand should not protrude out from the table stand. For your reference, the measurement of the TV stand in the narrow position is approximately 27.25 inch (692 mm) wide and 14.45 inch (367 mm) deep. The weight of the TV without the stand is approx. 63.7 lb (28.9 kg). QuestionHow do I connect the 77" A80J speakers as a surround-sound center channel? My A/V receiver doesn't have a 3.5mm S-CENTER OUT jack, only center-channel speaker terminals and a center-channel RCA PRE OUT jack. Help Guide & Startup Guide don't cover this.

- Answer I don't recall if my TV came with an adapter but you can buy a 3.5mm to RCA splitter to accomplish this.

QuestionI want to use the 77" A80J's speakers as a surround-sound center channel. What audio cable do I need, and what connections on my audio-video receiver do I use. Looks like the "S-Center Speaker In" jack on the TV is to be used for this. No TV back image

- Answer Hi Monty, Thank you for your question. You can connect your Audio/Video devices with an S-CENTER OUT terminal to the S-center speaker in port of this TV. The S-center speaker input will require a TV center speaker mode cable (3.5mm mini jack). - Answer The reply from Sony in this thread seems to contradict the manual and the option on the TV that allows it to be set as a center speaker. According to the manual, the 3.5 mm connector is the input, and the Sound Settings on the TV have the option of using it as a center speaker. Is there any way we can get a quality response from Sony on this?

QuestionIs the screen on the 65" A80J different than the 77" A80J? Is each size a matt or a clear finish? What about the 65" and 83" on the A90J? When will the 83" A90J be available to purchase? Your response to these questions will likely influence my decision.

- Answer Members on AVS forum are confirming 55” and 65” a80j have a satin like screen finish, whereas the 77” has the traditional glossy/black mirror finish of traditional OLED’s. I can personally vouch for the 77” as I am a owner. Check out https://www.rtings.com/tv/reviews/sony/a80j-oled for more technical info and review of the a80j.
