Your cable box probably doesn’t need that high of a refresh rate that’s usually for gaming. Any of the other ports will work. Make sure your hdmi cable is a higher grade cable to get the most out of your picture and all the settings are turned on the cable box and the tv for hdr or Dolby vision if it’s available. Cheaper hdmi cables will not be able to display the higher quality video formats.

You can connect the playback devices (i.e. cable box, BD player, game console, streaming devices, etc.) to any available HDMI inputs of this TV to experience high quality picture. All 4 HDMI ports on this TV support HDR and 4K picture with enhanced format. To enjoy high definition 4K HDR content, use a Premium High-Speed HDMI Cable(s) that supports speeds of 18 Gbps or more and set the [HDMI signal format] to [Enhanced format]. However, the best HDMI ports on the XR77A80K are HDMI 3 and 4. These ports supports HDMI2.1 standard, which allows 4K 120hz video and other features like VRR and ALLM. If you are connecting a device that supports HDMI 2.1 such as PlayStation and other gaming consoles, then you should connect it to HDMI 3 & 4. This will ensure that you get the best possible picture quality. With the BRAVIA XR A80K, you will enjoy a premium OLED picture with contrast and color that feels deep, natural, and real. The revolutionary Cognitive Processor XR™ reproduces content the way humans see and hear for an incredibly lifelike experience. Feel the action all around you with Acoustic Surface Audio+ and experience truly immersive sound that perfectly matches the picture on screen. Hope this helps! - Kris
