• This remote is preprogramed to operate Sony Blu-ray players. You can also use the Find code function to program the remote.

• It should. I just bought Sony Bluray about a month ago and this remote worked with it out of the box, no setup needed.

• This commander is preset for most major brand components as well as Sony, so even though you haven't given the model number of your player the likelihood of it working fine is extremely high.
