I would say that by default a Sony multi-funtion remote will work with a Sony A/V receiver. I know that this remote worked with my Sony BluRay player without any setup required on my part. Either way you'll be able to get it to work exactly as you want because this remote allows you to teach it commands from the original manufactures remote.

This remote comes preprogramed to control Sony products. If is does not work out of the box, you can use the Find Code function to program the remote.

I would say almost certainly. I use it with a Sony STR-DA2400ES. It holds most of the codes to operate Sony receivers.
