• You have to change it from your cable box if you want to turn down resolution. 1080i is currently the highest cable network feed. If you want 1080p then watch a blu ray. 1080i is plenty good enough for everyday cable network definition. Plenty Son Plenty

• Yes, the displayed resolution is given by the external device providing the feed for video, in order to change this resolution it will be necessary to change the video output on your satellite box instead.~ Jeannette
