Hi Mike, We do not recommend putting the TV on direct illumination or sunlight. There is also an option under picture setting that you can enable to reduce the glare such as in scenes that the entire screen is white. You can adjust the display settings on this model though to improve the picture in a brighter setting. The only TVs that have a good coating for reducing glares are outdoor TVs, which have a poor picture for the price you have to pay. So basically, yes and no is the answer, but you will not really be able to buy any TV of this similar quality and have no glare.
