  • QuestionIf I use this sound bar with my new Bravia 8 can the TV remote control the volume so I just use 1 remote? How far away can I mount the surround speakers? Can I use the subwoofer mounted sideways (pointing to the tv) on the shelf that the TV sits?

When you connect your HT-S60 to your BRAVIA 8 using the HDMI (eARC/ARC) port, the Bravia Sync (HDMI-CEC) feature allows your TV remote to automatically control the soundbar volume and power. It makes for a very seamless, one-remote experience. Regarding the surround speakers, they connect wirelessly to the main bar, and for the best performance, we generally recommend placing them within about 16 to 23 feet (5 to 7 meters) of the soundbar to ensure a stable connection and proper audio timing. As for the subwoofer, while it is physically possible to lay it on its side, we strongly recommend keeping it in its vertical, upright position. The subwoofer is designed with internal components and porting intended for vertical use; laying it sideways could impact the sound quality and potentially cause unwanted vibrations on your TV shelf. For the best "punch," placing it on the floor near the TV is usually the way to go! We appreciate your interest in Sony products.
