This is an inexpensive simple digital tape recorder. You can use the off/on switch to hear the lyrics or music more clearly. There are more expensive tape recorders that offer alternate speeds. Some inexpensive tape recorders with tapes offered 2 speeds for transcribing school class or meeting notes. There also are very sophisticated recording studio level machines available.

If you mean showing down the music timing to write down the lyrics & notes of the music to duplicate the song, you probably shouldn't try to copy the piece of music by violating copyright laws. You might want to check to find approved 'sheet music' in a music store.
