This is exactly what I needed for a digital voice recorder. It records easily, keeps track of separate recordings, and the sound is crystal clear. It is so small that you can fit it in your pocket and the price was far below other devices of similar functionality. It takes 2 size AAA alkaline batteries (which are included with the device), and there is a quick start guide that shows you how to use every feature with ease. There is even a feature that shows you how to divide a recording file into smaller files. Highly recommended!

great product for work meetings and school homework

This is our third Sony recorder. My husband and I both have one, this one is for our son. Easy to use. We have used it for recording meetings, kids concerts, and interviewing parents and grandparents. It is small enough that it can be used discreetly, even after mentioning it, people forget it is there. Granted it doesn't provide stereo quality recording of concerts but does better job audio wise than an iPhone.

Needed a small recorder to assist me in memorizing presentations, and to gauge the quality of my performance. This little recorder is easy to use, has clear sound, and can store my recordings so I can judge my progress. I don't see any shortcomings. This is perfect for my needs.

Bought for our Granddaughter when she needed to tape an interview with a WW2 vet for a scholarship application. Also, she has used it in class to record a lecture. Very good sound, easy to use and size is perfect for backpack or purse.

My wife passed away in 2014. I purchased the digital recorder so that I could preserve her voice. I used it to record a copy of her voicemail msg rom both her cell phone and our land line. It is the only memory I have of her voice. The recorder will be inside a shadowbox with her wedding dress, and other wedding memorabilia.

Short battery life. Small size , just good to keep in my purse. Eazy to use.

Purchased this to aid me in recording interviews with former students for our soon to be published book. Sure saved a lot of time and the range of picking up the conversation is really nice....and more than I expected. I would recommend this to other customers who want a small reliable recording device.

I had no idea how to use a digital recorder but it was easy to learn how to use. It picks up the noise real well. I used it to see what my dog did while i was gone. Aside from clearly getting her barking and whining, it picked up the sound of her toenails on the tile, so i could tell when she was pacing back and forth. Well worth its money!

My mom wanted to save messages from her answering machine left by friends. She didn't know how she was going to save them so I went and picked this recorder up. Very easy to use. Recordings were very clear. Made her happy. Would definitely recommend this product to others.

Easy to use, sound is good, good deal for the price

I love the size, features and quality of this recorder. Use it for important phone calls when I’m on my cell phone and whenever I need a recording. Pretty easy to use.

I bought this to replace an earlier one from this store that I had misplaced. The price had gone up ten dollars, but it was worth it. These are handy little recorders. I use them when I cover village board meetings. I go through a AAA battery change about once a week, though, much of it used up in playback at high volume while I'm writing my stories. Easy to drop into your pocket and take with you. They're tough and long-lasting. Their convenient size, however, also increases the risk of losing them.

I'm an old lady and needed this for simple recording. I didn't want anything complicated. I just needed it to record and playback, without having to spend hours reading a manual, or pushing many buttons. This does a good job. You push REC. and PLAY. It records on multiple files, but each is clearly indicated by 1, 2, 3... You can use headphones with it. I'm pleased with it. It seems to be of good quality. Pocket size, with a nice little soft case.

I was just needing a simple recorder and this was good for the cheap price. Decent quality although with most of these recorders I wish there was an easier fast forward button rather than a skip

This was a very easy product to learn how to use and very compact we bought this for my older aunt who has trouble collecting her thoughts so we thought this would be the perfect gift for her she seems to acclimating very quickly to using it and being a Sony product we know it should last pretty long.

I got this for my elderly stepmom who has poor vision, and is no longer able to read daily updates about her favorite bears in Ely, MN. I was able to record myself reading to her a years worth of updates, with plenty of room to spare. Sound quality is great, and it's easy for her to use.
