If i remember correctly ,my friend has one,and he recorded music through The lic line in,with hi cut clip option to prevent distortion, and it recorded an mp3 in hifi mono. With only a tad distortion. But what u need is a portable tascam recorder, it records any formate in ultra hq sound with studio features. I have the mk07 it alows me to record one track, then play it back and over dub with it, all without a pc! About $100 uses AA batterys And has a tripod screw for tripods. I love it,comes with 2 gb micro sd card and mini to mini cable. I also use it to record vinyl records to mp3.
