In short, if you are only using i-Movie to put the files together, this is not the recorder for you. i-Movie isn't the best tool for synching your video and audio that have no direct relationship to each other. You would be better served using Final Cut Pro.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. If you set up the files as mp3 format, it should play nice with iMovie. The software the Sony comes with is for organizing your recordings and basic audio editing. Remember that the audio is only mono. I haven't used iMovie in a long time so I don't remember how hard syncing audio can be. I would try youtube and look on a how to guide. If you're having issues I would recommend trying Adobe premiere pro demo and see if you like it. I have used this program to sync audio to HD video and works really well, but it's pricey.
