I turn on camera, it tells me to turn it off and restart. that seems to do nothing null

Mine does that when I forget to remove lens cover before turning it on

Hi. the message Turn the power off and on again may be displayed if the Cyber-shot® camera detects a malfunction, such as when forcing the lens or if a foreign object is trapped in the lens mechanism.
In this case, turn the camera off and then back on again.
NOTE: The lens may malfunction when it cannot focus properly.
