Not sure about the batteries but it does have a hole for tripod mounting and can be charged without removing the battery.

Yes, the 300 has a tripod mount. And the only way set up to charge the batteries is plugging the camera in to power, or laptop with USB. Don't know if the batteries are the same. It is Np-Bx1 rechargeable lithium

Hi ward, no, the batteries are not interchangeable as the DSCHX200V uses the NPFH50 while the DSCHX300 use the NPBX battery. Yes, it has a tripod receptacle and yes, you can charge the battery in the camera. Thanks_Mitch
