Thank you for the great question, HearingHelp! OTC hearing aids are regulated by the FDA, which set limits on the volume output for consumer safety. Currently they are only for adults with perceived mild to moderate hearing loss. I'm sorry to hear that your father is struggling. It would might be best to talk to a hearing care professional at the VA or in the private sector to determine what options might best meet his needs.
