Hi bleu! Thanks for your question! The musical tones that play when the devices are powered on act as an audible indicator that the hearing aids are powered on and ready to use. There is no way to disable these tones. If you wish to not hear the tones are they play, you can delay hearing aid insertion for several seconds after closing the battery door (C10) or removing hearing aid from the charger (E10). Regards, Erin

I suspect it is part of the establishing the link between the hearing aids and whatever controlling device you may be using for them. I got a set of them in August or September as I had started a new job and it loaded with conferences, online meetings, seminars and such. They were somewhat helpful but I dot find a way to adjust and equalize the equalizer or customize the frequency ranges. In the end, I probably put 150 hours on them and they were a real blessing. Now, I have "wee" bit costlier set of hearing aids that are better suited to my hearing loss. The Starkeys are about twice the cost but I can now use a phone with some confidence. FWIW, the pricier Starkeys still make that same noice when installing them in the ear. However, you can get some ear lube, actual audio gel that will make a huge difference in the overall performance by easing insertion into the ear canal, minimizing ear itch, and helping to keep the devices well sealed within
