Absolutely. This is a superb “outdoor” lens. It balances well with the A-series body. The extra range to 300mm (vs, say, a 70-200mm) will help quite a lot too for your wildlife shots. The lens is stabilized so hand-holding it —steadily—makes for some remarkable crisp zoomed in shots. Everything else, image quality and lens build quality is excellent. This is one of my favorite Sony lenses. The G series lenses tend to be “hidden secrets” given their overall price-performance value. Unless you absolutely need a 2.8 max aperture save your hard-earned cash and enjoy this lens.

The lens is part of our G lens line up and will produce sharp images and it also has good focal range suitable for wildlife photography. Thank you so much for your question. And thank you for choosing Sony. - Pakorn (Sony Social Support)
