Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.My refurbished does just fine on 4K Ultra Playback. Whether the unit supports HDR is sort of questionable. Some Online Reviews of the Unit say it "does not" support HDR, yet on the front on my unit it says "HDR" on a small sticker applied to the unit there. Upscaling is a rather tricky and elusive issue, but my unit seems to upscale older DVD's and Blue Ray DVD's just fine, especially the older Blue Ray DVD's. I will probably replace the Sony Unit with a Panasonic DMP UB900 Unit when the prices on that unit come down to a more acceptable range. I sort of prefer the warmer and more lifelike reproduction that older Panasonic Ray DVD Players give...and the ukpscaling, .but that's just me. I plan to keep both the Sony and Panasonic Units in my system. At times I use one (older Panasonic BK65 Blue Ray DVD Player with it's upscaling) and at other times I prefer the newer Sony 4K Ultra Player (have to use this one for 45K Ultra Discs/Movies)
