This was a Refirb model, came in original box and only thing missing was paper work. Excellent condition and easy hook up. Went on line and printed out the manual to help in operating and connecting to wifi. This is an excellent player at an excellent price! I have it paired with a OLED tv and the picture on 3d, blue ray and 4K is outstanding. I think this set up along with my home theater set will suffice for quite a few years before I will need to up date. Couldn't be happy'r and would recommend this player.

Overall functionality is fairly robust, but the interface is dated/antiquated with menu options that are arguably cryptic, requiring you to refer to the manual. Having said that, the bluetooth connectivity is nice so you can listen thru bluetooth headphones at night. You can also access media files over your network. Overall response is sufficiently responsive There is no display on the front of the device, so it's difficult to figure out if it has been left on and the power options are limited. There is a tiny LED that indicates it's on. That's it. You get the impression that this was rushed to market with no input from people who would potentially use this That being said, it works and works well. I just can't imagine paying $300 for this and having something that -- from a user experience-- seems slapped together. Functionality aside, there's nothing "high end" about this.

If you bought a 4k tv in the last few years, chance are you didn’t realize how ugly 1080p HD would look up-rezzed to UHD (4k). This bluray player makes Netflix look good again, and adds a few tricks, like bluetooth audio to headphones, so i can watch a movie without disturbing anyone. I bought this to watch 4K blurays, but i now also use it to uprez hd content, because it does a better job than the tv does. Only downside, is an xbox one s does all of this and more. It is much quieter than an Xbox though, and it looks more mature sitting beneath a tv than a flashy white video game console. As far as I know, it also beats the xbox in the hi-def audio support too. Not sure if xbox supports all the high end audio formats.

The only way you would know this wasn't brand new was for the fact it didn't come with batteries for the remote. The player works well and while it may not be the most capable unit on the market it is of higher quality than the standard bargain buy while being quite a bit lower cost than other 4k players. The player handles 4k disks well and the up-conversion on blu-ray is very nice, with my new tv many people have asked if standard blu-ray movies are 4k movies due to the quality.

4K videos look great. Setup is effortless, just connect the power cable and hdmi cable. I would prefer it if it were a bit smaller.

I got the UBP-X800 as a Geek Squad refurbished item at a great price. It came in the original box, but not with all of the packing. Remote and manual were included. Quickly connected to XBR 65X850D through non-4K receiver with Monster 1000 HDX hdmi. After connecting to WiFi network and getting latest software update, popped in a regular BD. Played beautifully. Later obtained 4K disc and played. Picture not what I expected, but sound was great. Checked manual on connections and realized UBD needed to be connected directly to the TV due to the receiver. Changed the cable around and wow. The picture was all that I had expected and more. Sony did a great job with this player.

I was hesitant since its refurbished but after reading other reviews I went for it. Very happy with the purchase. Original box, remote and manual all included. Honestly it looked brand new. Still had stickers on it and covering an hdmi port. Just one piece of styrofoam missing. Works perfectly. Grab one if you can.

Got this one refurbished from geek squad and so far it works great. It is faster than other bluray players I've had (for some reason all DVD players seem to be slow as molasses). It also has high resolution audio support which I want for my new system.

This unit works great. Connected to a Sony 65" and a vizio soundbar with wireless speakers. All respond well together. The remote is user friendly.Watch for sale prices. Purchased mine refurbished for $99.99

Bought this Sony x800 after reading many reviews. Picture is fantastic in all modes after I did some adjustments in menu. I do not at moment have a HDR 4k tv but picture is very good. Better in up scaled Blu-ray mode than my Sony s6500 which it replaced. Did not give five stars because my SACD, Super Audio Discs, do not sound quite as good as with s6500. Bought for $160 refurbished--what a deal !

Should say somewhere in description that this is geek squad refurbished and not factory refurbished. Came in box with remote. No packing materials batteries or manual. Great upgrade from our old player. It is much faster and easier to use. Reads neary every file type i have attempted. Only downfall is the way it organizes media files over the network.

Order arrived promptly and properly packed. Set up was quick and easy. I don't buy movies that often, but when I do, I want the best quality I can get...and since Sony didn't include a 4k Bluray player in their PS4 Pro....(seriously guys????) I opted to get a standalone 4kUHD player instead of a Xbox one S or X...cuz I don't have time to game on so many different consoles.

I picked one of these up for $99 refurbished and wow what a player! The picture from a honest to goodness UHD Blu Ray disc is SO MUCH BETTER than any compressed stream it's not even funny. I care little that this unit will not be receiving the Dolby Vision firmware update. HDR10 is just fine!

This was reconditioned or re-certified so I was a little skeptical. Packaging was not original but everything was there and the unit looked new. Had it now for 6 months without an issue and saved a bundle. Worth a look.

This was a "refurbished" model but I could not tell that was the case. Arrived earlier than expected, packaged like a brand new one and preformed flawlessly. Very impressed with the upscaling as well as playing 4k discs. And it is built like a tank also!
