“Can others hear tv if they want to while the hearing impaired can crank up the headset? Or will the headset have to be unplugged to get sound through the tv alone?”

• A lot depends on your tv, weather it has head phone jack that doesn't cut the sound to the speakers or if it has RCA output port, that would work. On my tv I didn't have either of them ports so I had to get adapter to come from the HDMI port to hookup to. The adapter I used is Avantree DAC03, it seems to work good.

• Rick mentioned Avantree DAC03 as a solution. I cannot find this device anywhere. I find a DAC02. WOULD THAT WORK? I am 77 and thevterms are greek to me so i need model number to order. Thanks.
