Q: what is the connection to the tv? Two RCA jacks, or one of those headphone jacks??

A: You can use the mini-headphone wire supplied, or you can plug that into the RCA patch chord attachment, also supplied, so you can use either. However, You will prefer plugging into the headphone jack on your sound source if there is one, because it will be bass-equalized for headphones and will sound better.

Q: I have a Sony Wireless headphone WHRF400 RF . It stopped working. Seldom used. Can't buy replacement battery anywhere NiMH800 11/2 4V. Now what do I do? Is there a different headphone battery that will work? Thanks.

A: According to the user manual I downloaded, you can use regular AAA batteries. I have not tried this, so I can't vouch for it. But it seems reasonable. The charger station is supposed to be able to tell that you don't have rechargeable batteries and not try to recharge them. Personally, if I were to put regular AAA batteries in the headphones, I would not place them on the charger station at all.

Q: Will I be able to hear the TV audio with just the headphones alone? Or do I need a tower to accompany the headphones?

A: Of course you always need the broadcast tower that comes with the headphones, because the headphones only receives signal from the tower, and the tower is the only way to charge the internal battery.

Q: Are there cables to connect the base to the TV, or are we buying strictly the headphones and base?

A: Yes, audio cable connect from TV to the base (or transmitter) and the cable is pretty long, I think at least 5 feet.

Q: Why didn't it come with a battery and what rechargeable batteries can you use

A: It comes with a battery. It is in the left housing of the headset. If it is empty you should return or ask for a replacement, it is included. Note- the base needs to be plugged into an outlet and then the headphones need to charge on the tower for about 4hrs to fully charge before using. Replacement battery- 988521611, BATTERY, NICKEL HYDROGEN, MDRRF995RK, Sony Parts and Accessories, Sony Consumer Electronics Parts and Accessories

Q: Can others hear tv if they want to while the hearing impaired can crank up the headset? Or will the headset have to be unplugged to get sound through the tv alone?

A: A lot depends on your tv, weather it has head phone jack that doesn't cut the sound to the speakers or if it has RCA output port, that would work. On my tv I didn't have either of them ports so I had to get adapter to come from the HDMI port to hookup to. The adapter I used is Avantree DAC03, it seems to work good.
