“Q3. I've tried several ways to connect this Sony HT-SD35 soundbar to my Samsung blu ray (it only has a digital audio coaxial out and hdmi out ports on the back) and my LG CS650 tv. To no avail...do I need a hdmi switch/switcher with an ARC hdmi out????”

Hi Toni, You can directly connect this unit to your TV as long as it supports HDMI ARC. If the Sound Bar is connected to a TV’s HDMI IN jack compatible with ARC, you can listen to TV sound from the speakers of the Sound Bar without connecting an optical digital cable. ~Earl

Please try again later.I only have the old 2.1 250 watt Sony bar but I remember when I hooked my bar up I had to have both the HDMI & optic hooked up to the tv for it to all work. Not just the HDMI If that helps? I have a Pan BR & Fire Box both connected to my Pan Tv now and both play through it perfectly. Fwiw- My Pan Tv has several HDMI plug-ins on back and some tv's dont? Could lead to issues for some setups I'm sure? All else fails call Id call Sony?
