Your HT-A3000 should be connected to your TV with an HDMI cable to the eARC or ARC port. No need to connect your soundbar to the TV remote since once the TV and Soundbar are connected by HDMI the sound will automatically go come from the TV. There are features for the soundbar that you will have to make using your setting on the soundbar remote, but volume control should be done thru the TV remote.

You can operate this soundbar (power on/off, volume adjustment, navigate the menu) using the remote control (Sony TV) by turning on the Control for HDMI Function. You can change the Control for HDMI settings by selecting [Setup] - [Advanced Settings] - [HDMI Settings] on the home menu. When it comes to third party remote setup we can’t answer this questions. We don’t know if the DirecTV remote can support audio control. For best results please reach out to DirecTV.
