• Yes, there are 2 settings. You can have external speakers +headphones or just the headphones.

• there is a setting on the headphones themselves through a toggle labeled "Chat/Sound" where you have levels of sound either through your speakers or headphones. its meant so that the chat function works through the headphones while gaming sound or even movie sound is still playing through speakers.
