The problem is there are people who are buying them, like 10 to 20 at a time, at the regular price, then resell them on other sites, like eBay, at many 5-10 times higher prices. In other words, they are hoarding and taking advantage of desperate players who want at any price. Because the consoles can sold online, they are using bots to mass purchase consoles to sell later. It's like when the pandemic start and people start buying enormous amounts of hand sanitizers, paper products, etc. and try to sell them up to 100-150% markup. It's the same thing.
