I was in my local best buy and they told me they are no longer locking the ps5 behind the total tech membership. My local store is doing a list, you just speak to a blue shirt at the front of the store and tell them you want to be put on the list and they take down your name, phone number and which version you want and when they get stock in they use the list. Not sure if it's just my local store doing that or if it's a regional thing as I've heard other store in other states still require you to be a total tech member. I'd recommend going in person to you're local store if you can and just asking, they should tell you how they're doing it.
