- Answer Yes there is an external AC charger. One thing I learned is to buy Sony Batteries and not aftermarket ones. As is , on Amazon. Those discharge too fast

- Answer I am not sure. I have the a6300, but if it is compatible I would suggest buying a few if you can get them on sale. The battery is drained really fast from the camera. I bought two. Might get a couple more. After about 15 pictures I was almost at 75%
