I don’t know about previous version. This one is small but the sound is great! No complains, I like a lot

However, this speaker is smaller than I thought it would be when I picked it up curbside. There is no reference objects or scale in the online photos, causing some sort of visual trickery or optical illusion. The design appears a little “clock radio” shaped to me, guess subconsciously I thought it would be close to that size (5”— 6” range). In reality, the speaker is less than half that size (appx- 3” W x 2” H x 2” D) That said, it is an AWESOME little speaker. It gets quite loud, has a well balanced sound profile, pairs with my iPhone easily and stays connected. I bought it when it was on sale a few weeks ago and have been super impressed. The speaker is worth the original price (appx. 50$) by packaging it in a cheap blister pack the perceived value dropped into the 20$ quality range for me. I hope this was helpful. Best, B
