Hi, I own these neckband speakers and have them setup with my sound bar/TV (both LG brand). They will play on both devices, but it depends on your TVs audio out settings, as well as how your sound bar is setup currently. The Bluetooth transmitter that provides sound from the TV to the Sony neckband speaker is connected to the TV via an optical audio cable that plugs in the back. Typically, most TVs only have one optical audio out port, which limits you to using one optical audio device at a time. But not everyone sets up their sound bar using Optical audio. Some use an HDMI cable. To ensure you’ll be able to receive audio to both the sound bar and neckband speaker, review your TV/sound bar setup. - If the sound bar is connected for audio through the TVs one optical out, audio on both devices can be achieved by purchasing an optical audio splitter for $10-20. This will split the sound signal, and automatically provide sound to both connected devices. The volume level for the sound bar would be controlled by the TV or sound bar remote, while the neckband speaker’s volume is controlled by the buttons on it. - If the sound bar is connected to the TV via HDMI, you will need to check the TV settings menu and make sure your TV has a sound setting that says something along the lines of “HDMI & Optical Audio Out”. If you have this setting, once selected and setup with the neckband speakers, both the sound bar and the neckband speaker will be able to have independent volume control. -Lastly, these speakers will connect to any Bluetooth audio device, like your phone, tablet or computer. You may be able to connect them directly to your TV without the wireless transmitter, which is j technically just another Bluetooth transmitter. Check to see if your TV has Bluetooth audio built in. Then, again, check your TV settings to ensure there is an audio out setting that says it will output sound to both the port the sound bar is connected to as well as Bluetooth. For instance, it might say “HDMI & Bluetooth audio out” or “Optical & Bluetooth audio out”. Finally, I will just say that if you are unsure if this will work for your TV setup, you can always purchase the speakers and try them to make sure they work the way you’re hoping they will. If they work, great! If not you can return them for a full refund to Best Buy.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I have a Sony soundbar and a Sony TV. And when I have this neckband connected by Bluetooth to my TV both soundbar and TV still have sound. My Sony TV has a separate option to raise "Bluetooth volume" so that is how I raise and lower the volume for my neckband because raising the TV volume does not affect it. If that doesn't work on your setup there is also a Bluetooth adapter included in the box that plugs directly into your TVs 3.5mm headphone out jack and send the signal to the neckband also.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Depends on the TV. I have a Sony that will output to my sound system and the neckband. I also have a Samsung TV that will only send sound to my neckband.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. Not likely. Mine disables the TV audio when it switches to the Bluetooth neck speakers. (I have a Sony Bravia TV.) It also switches off my Bluetooth sound bar, if I am using it.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I tried that with my 2 Sony TV. The one model X900F can listen through while soundbar working and the one 77A80J not
