Hi Neel, Great question! The STRAN1000 will not upscale RCA input. You would have to use an HDMI Cable from the device. Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.The RCA analog video port on the Sony STR AN1000 do not upscale. The video resolution would probably be 480P. The Wii's video resolution plugged into the RCA video port on the receiver would be 480P since that's what the Wii can send. If the you want the Wii's analog video signal upscaled, any upscaling would have to be handled by your TV. You can check your TV's display settings to see if there's an option to upscale. If the TV doesn't upscale, then (as you said) the better option would be to get a device that will upscale your analog video signal and then send it through HDMI.
