Q: QuestionI just want a plain blu-Ray player to play blu ray disc. I don’t need all those apps and internet connection. My new Sony H80x has all of that, and it connects well to the internet (my WR at other end of house). Can I use this device w/o internet?

• A:Answer honeyeater, the usb input is 2.0. plenty fast enough for video playback. there's a 128GB usb 3.0 flash drive plugged in mine, and it works fine. It's formatted NTFS, but i don't play any files over 4GB anyway. have fun!

Q: QuestionWe just bought this device but we went to transfer our old Samsung DVR cords that included our sound to this new Sony they don't have the outlets in the back for it. Do we have to get a whole different sound system and what kind is adaptable to this one?

• A:Answer This device connects to a television via HDMI, so one needs a television with HDMI connections and an HDMI cable as well. To convey the picture quality that is on the blu-ray disc to the television screen one needs an HDMI cable. Otherwise the quality of the signal is greatly diminished. Perhaps a converter box exists that accepts an HDMI signal and transmits the signal to a television with the former connections. I don't know of any, but there may be one.
